What is PTSA?

The Stafford PTSA is a parent teacher student association representing a local unit of the National PTA.  In addition to the general membership, the PTSA consists of an Executive Board and additional board members who oversee areas such as Student Enrichment, Membership, Annual Fund, Community Service, Newsletter, Publicity, Volunteers, and Legislation.  The association also includes the Principal and a teacher representative.

What does the PTSA do at Stafford?

The Stafford PTSA provides programs and activities that otherwise our children would not experience.
Every year the PTSA funds over $55,000 worth of special programs and equipment for the school. 

These programs include:
  • Arts Enrichment
  • Science Enrichment
  • Spanish Enrichment
  • Library support
  • Technology Support
  • Toastmasters
  • PE Support
The board and volunteers also organize family fun events to bring the community together in a social environment.

These include:
  • Stafford Stempede
  • Adult Socials
  • Parent Enrichment Nights
  • The Stafford Sock Hop
  • Movie Nights
  • Stafford Striders (an after school running club)
How are funds reaised for these programs?

Each year Stafford parents directly support PTSA programs without having to participate in traditional school fund raising (ie. gift wrap, cookie dough sales etc...)  The programs are funding by contributions made to the PTSA Annual Fund with 100% of contibutions going directly to our school.  In addition, an auction is held every three to five years, as needed, to supplement what is raised yearly through the Annual Fund.  Both ensure the quality and longevity of the programs the PTSA makes available to our children.

What is my role as a parent at Stafford?

As stated above, your contribution to the PTSA annual fund will ensure the continuation of currently sponsored PTSA programs and activities.

JOIN

All parents at Stafford are encouraged to show their support of the Stafford PTSA by joining PTSA.

VOLUNTEER

A volunteer form is included to give you an opportunity to sign up to help with particular activities and/or programs.  You can also attend regularly scheduled monthly PTSA meetings to hlep with the planning and organizing of events throughout the year, as well as helping shape the future of Stafford PTSA.
